SwimZH collects no personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Nothing about you is sent anywhere.
If you grant location access, SwimZH uses your position to measure how far each pool is and to show you on the map. That position is used on your device and is never transmitted, stored on a server, or shared. You can refuse the permission and the app still works — distances are then measured from Zürich main station, or from a place you pick yourself.
SwimZH answers everything — opening hours, prices, lane plans, pool sizes, distances — from a database bundled inside the app, so it works with no signal at all. It makes network requests in only two cases:
Neither request carries an identifier, an account, a location, or any other information about the person using the app. Ordinary web-server logs at the far end may record the request as any web request is recorded; SwimZH adds nothing to them.
Your filter choices and the downloaded pool database are saved on your device, in the app's own container. They are removed when you delete the app.
SwimZH is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, children included.
Pool data comes from the City of Zürich's published pool pages and its open geodata. SwimZH is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the City of Zürich.
